We moved from California to Harlingen with two dogs. Our eight year old Golden Retriever Shanna and our eight month old Golden Retriever Shadow.
Then we got Shadow a playmate, Sadie a Lab puppy, thinking this would complete our family - famous last words - at this point 17 dogs and 1 cat that make up our family...Cheyenne, our mama Golden, Madison, Chelsea and Journey, our female Standard Poodles, Bailey and Choco, our male Standard Poodles and our 8 chihuahuas, Jude, CJ, Annie, Lola, Selena, Nikki, Jenna and our little Boo Boo.
Shanna did cross the Rainbow Bridge on 12/26/2009 and we miss her terribly, but we mated Shadow and Cheyenne one last time and kept one of their pups...Jordan Leigh...Now you know our canine family, and of course, our wonderful cat, KC.
We did breed several times, Goldens, Standard Poodles, Labradoodles, Goldendoodles and of course Chihuahuas - however since the breeders are our pets we will not breed our females more than three times, most of our dogs have been fixed - we may have one litter of Labradoodles and after that it may only be a couple of Chihuahuas litters. The over population of dogs in the valley also helped in our decision.
Instead of breeding, we now foster some Humane Society dogs so they can be crate trained, socialized and ready for adoption - we have several success stories in this area.
